Durham’s Partnership for Children Expands Pre-K for Durham County’s Children

In 2017, Durham County rallied stakeholders to engage in developing a taskforce to drive efforts to improve early childhood outcomes for children in the county. The work of the task force led to funding from the county government to expand the number of publicly funded Pre-K classrooms in Durham.

For the 2019-2020 school year, Durham Pre-K is up and running. Durham’s Partnership for Children and Child Care Services Association work together to enroll students for these newest publicly funded Pre-K slots. This is a great example of how community partners leveraged their expertise and connections to be able to build support for our youngest children.
