Investing in Our Workforce

The Smart Start network supports the early care and education workforce through statewide programs and innovative approaches developed by local partnerships in their own communities. In partnership with the Child Care Services Association, Smart Start implements the WAGE$ program, which provides education-based supplements to teachers across the state. Smart Start Local partnerships also provide scholarships to support teachers’ education and professional development and others share costs with child care providers to offer health insurance and other benefits.
