Discover Smart Start Healthy Families Mecklenburg
Smart Start Healthy Families Mecklenburg is a home visiting program that provides education on healthy pregnancy, child development, healthy life choices, and links to community resources through services provided by a nurse or social work until a child is at least two years of age.
In the last fiscal year, the Healthy Families program at the Mecklenburg County Partnership for Childrenassisted a teen mother in obtaining a high school diploma and a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) degree. Through the support of her family, the aid of subsidized child care, and the assistance of the Healthy Families program, the young mother has positioned herself in a great place to provide for her child’s future.
