Buncombe County Partnership for Children Receives NCWorks Local Innovation Grant

Buncombe Partnership for Children received a $400,000 grant to help expand the Western North Carolina (WNC) Early Childhood Workforce Development Program which addresses the shortage of early childhood educators.

Buncombe will lead the initiative to increase the number of teachers from diverse backgrounds entering the profession in Western NC.

The partnership will work with Smart Start of Transylvania County, Children & Family Resource Center of Henderson County, Smart Start Partnership for Children of Henderson County, Madison County Partnership for Children, Community Action Opportunities, Inc, and Mountain Area Workforce Development Board to increase the quality of education in Western North Carolina
