What happens to children in FY2011?

Some in Congress have proposed cutting this fiscal year’s non-defense discretionary spending back to 2008 levels.

According First Focus, that could mean children’s spending takes a big hit.

Returning spending back to Fiscal Year 2008 levels, along with the fact that ARRA money is expiring, will result in a cut of almost $28 billion in real terms, which would equal over a 21 percent decrease to children’s non-defense discretionary spending when compared to last year’s funding levels.
