Virtual Resiliency Opportunities During the COVID-19 Crisis
Many collaboratives, networks, and organizations focused on resilience building have shifted to providing support specific to the impacts of COVID-19, while others are increasing their commitment to offer community convenings and points of connection in virtual ways. A recent blog on ACEs Connection shares ideas from different state networks on how they are continuing to mobilize communities around resilience and providing opportunities for connection.
In North Carolina, virtual spaces dedicated to connection and healing continue to occur within new communities. Since March, several resilience collaboratives across the state have hosted regularly scheduled community meetings online via Zoom with great success. Shifting to a virtual meeting not only keeps important work moving forward and allows community representatives to stay informed, but also opens up the opportunity for other participants to join who are not able to attend in-person.
In addition to providing updates, many virtual community meetings have focused on offering times for checking in, reflecting on current needs, and practicing resiliency skills across North Carolina.
