Raising A Reader is a program that encourages parents with children birth to 5 to read together and take advantage of resources at the public library.
“As Alayna and I read the books that were brought home, we had a lot of time to share our thoughts on what would happen next in the story. The best part of Raising A Reader was that I watched my daughter finger point to the words as we read. As a future teacher, I have been formally trained on how to teach children to read. However, I feel there are a lot of parents that may not have the training to teach their child and this program teaches that important skill. The children are our future and this allowed me time to get my daughter started in the right direction.” – Christie Beach, Caldwell County
