Childhood obesity is very devastating to children, their family and the community. I am working hard with Sen. Brent Jackson, House Rep. Dist. 10 Stephen LaRoque and House Rep. Dist. 5 to improve the nutritional value of foods in schools and improve community awareness of the financial and health complications of obesity. Just this week Beulaville, NC and Kinston, NC have agreed to proclaim September as Childhood Obesity Awareness Month keeping in line with the National Proclamation by President Obama.
