Quality Early Childhood Educators: NAEYC’s Power to the Profession

Quality Early Educators are essential for an effective early childhood system. For ECE systems leaders in a community, it is critical that they engage in advocating for the workforce—helping to shift the public narrative about the complexity of early childhood teaching and the need for greater recognition, respect, and compensation.

NAEYC’s Power to the Profession initiative is sparking national dialogue and resources to support leaders in this work. Check out the introductory video and learn more about how you can engage in the process. There are eight decision cycles in this effort and the current cycle is focused on the resources, infrastructure, and accountability structures needed across states and systems to support a prepared, diverse, well-compensated early childhood education profession. Feedback on Decision Cycles 7+8 will be accepted through September 13, 2019 and we encourage you to provide feedback via the online survey.

Please make sure your local stakeholders and ECE community are aware of Power to the Procession as an effort to elevate the ECE workforce. Here are 3 quick complementary articles that can be used to remind stakeholders about the importance of this work.
