Newborn and Family Home Visiting Programs – Smart Start Network Position

Smart Start acknowledges that there is a maternal and infant health crisis in NC and is committed to supporting families in the critical newborn stage after the birth of a baby. The Network stands ready to plan for and implement home visiting programs across the state as additional funding becomes available to address this crisis.

Newborn home visiting and parent education is just one strategy for supporting children and families, and is one that is strongly and collectively supported across the Smart Start Network.
